Rabi was born to an unknown couple, quite probably in the Abyss. If Bookman knew Rabi's parents, he has never told him to this day. Bookman himself raised the boy on the tough streets of the Abyss. Life was hard, of course, but Rabi quickly learnt how to be street wise, knowing when to retreat and how to avoid those who might wish him harm.
He was smart and Bookman taught him everything he could. When he was old enough, he assisted Bookman with his job at the library in Terra but that didn't sit well with him for long. When he was fifteen, he overheard a conversation between two men in the library. Hidden by the aisles of books, he watched and listened as one of the men pulled out a rather expensive piece of electronics and pass it over to the other man. It was his first experience with seeing a black market dealer.
While he was far from obsessed about it, the gears in his mind were spinning. Rabi sought books to research but though he found a few, the real lessons came from his sneaking around where the other black marketers dealt in the Abyss. By the time he was sixteen, he put up a single poster advertising his lucrative business in Terra while on the way to his normal job. The poster worked and soon he was well on his way to being a rather exceptional black marketer, much to Bookman's dismay.
Thanks to his fantastic memory as well as Bookman's, he is exceptional at information gathering as well. Though he hates to admit it, sometimes his knowledge isn't as extensive as he needs it to be. It's then that he asks Bookman for his knowledge or if he can point him in the right direction. Overall, he's one of the most amiable and decent men to deal with when it comes to getting hard to find items or knowledge. | |
